EC met this morning. It deliberated on a host of issues, which among others, included the status of unresolved issue of Misc. Electricity Charges (MECs), it’s legal redressal with a focus on strategy, finance, and petitioners; and the Eid Milan Party.
The EC expressed its deep concern over the Mgt.’ continued silence with regard to the promised announcement of 2nd relief under MECs. It called on the Mgt. to hasten it, bringing these charges at par with those of other premier housing societies in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Maintenance, and service charges are required to be just, reasonable, and in accordance with market forces.
Arrangements for the Eid Milan party were discussed in detail. It is expected to be held at Al-Ibrahimi restaurant within the next fortnight. Views on menu, price of ticket, and printing of tickets were exchanged. The EC agreed that the menu should be austere, and price commonly affordable. It would provide a good opportunity for a community get-together, and friendly socialisation.
An expressive note is being separately issued later today on the legal course that SOBER proposed to take on redressal of the MECs’ issue.
The EC meeting was chaired by Mr. Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi, President, SOBER.
