Holding of the GBM is a constitutional requirement, as spelt out in article-9(A) of the Society’s Constitution. This event is mandatory. It can neither be wished away, nor subject to a caprice of any interest group.
The GBM in each financial year helps enable its members to take stock of the activities of SOBER, and plan for future.
Since 06 September, 2023, we have posted six communications on this subject in almost all WhatsApp groups, frequented by hundreds of members of SOBER, including EC members. Among others, we circulated draft agenda for the GBM for information, and necessary action of all concerned, including EC members. In each communication, we requested them to share their views, and suggestions on the event, and its agenda. We are grateful to some members of the community, who gave their insightful input both in writing, and telephonically.
We are still inclined to consider, and accommodate all reasonable views, and suggestions on this event. Members are welcome to pool their wisdom with a view to making GBM both a fruitful, and rewarding effort.
